چکیده
Ionic perturbation of water has important implications in various chemical, biological and environmental processes. Previous studies revealed the structural dynamical presence ions, mainly with concentrated electrolyte solutions having significant interionic interactions. These investigations highlighted need selective extraction hydration shell from a dilute solution that is largely free Double-difference infrared (DDIR) Raman multivariate curve resolution (Raman-MCR), as well MD simulation, provided valuable insight this direction, suggesting perturbed resides immediate vicinity ion, called shell. Recently, we have introduced difference spectroscopy simultaneous fitting (Raman-DS-SCF) analysis can quantitatively extract vibrational response pertaining to fully hydrated ions/solute. The DS-SCF novel hydrogen-bond (H-bond) features water, such existence extremely weakly interacting water–OH (νmax ~ 3600 cm−1) high-charge-density metal ions (Mg2+, Dy3+). In addition, Raman-DS-SCF retrieves shared water–shared-ion pair (WSIP), which different either cation anion. Herein, discuss H-bonding cation, anion, zwitterion hydrophobes also inter-ionic interactions, focus on recent results our laboratory using spectroscopy.

متن کاملRaman Spectroscopy Investigation of the Polar Vibrational Modes in CuB2O4
We report results of polarized Raman spectroscopy of piezoelectric copper metaborate CuB2O4 (space group I ̄42d, Z = 12) in the range from 80 to 1300 cm−1. Due to the dense population of the phonon spectra we carried out angular-dependent measurements by rotating the sample in different crystallographic planes thus performing gradual transitions from one polarization configuration to another. متن کاملIsotopic hydration of cellobiose: vibrational spectroscopy and dynamical simulations.
The conformation and structural dynamics of cellobiose, one of the fundamental building blocks in nature, its C4' epimer, lactose, and their microhydrated complexes, isolated in the gas phase, have been explored through a combination of experiment and theory. Their structures at low temperature have been determined through double resonance, IR-UV vibrational spectroscopy conducted under molecul...
متن کاملHydrogen-bonding and vibrational coupling of water in a hydrophobic hydration shell as observed by Raman-MCR and isotopic dilution spectroscopy.
Hydrogen-bonding and intra/intermolecular vibrational coupling of water next to a hydrophobic molecule (tert-butyl alcohol, TBA) have been studied by Raman multivariate curve resolution (Raman-MCR) and isotopic dilution spectroscopy. Raman-MCR provides the vibrational spectrum of water pertinent to the hydration shell of TBA, which shows a distinct Raman band at around 3660 cm(-1) corresponding...
